June 5 Day of Pentecost
Pentecost is the birthday of the Church as the body of Christ
June 5, 2022Pentecost is birthday of the universal church of Christ. It is the 3rd great Feast of the Church. The Holy Spirit at Pentecost is poured out on all flesh. This Spirit is the breath of charity and the tongue of truth. It is the fire of compassion that heals human life. It gathers the children of earth into one family of God.
During the 26 weeks that mark the Sundays in the liturgical year after the Day of Pentecost, we will make a pilgrimage toward an understanding of ourselves as a people of God. A people of God who are born of compassion and who loves and attends to all creation with a limitless hospitality and with boundless mercy. We seek to hear and to follow God’s higher callings to love Him whole-heartedly, and to love our neighbors as we love ourselves.
We hope to grow spiritually as a Pentecostal, spiritual people, a holy community whose holiness is measured only by its love for the world. As the Father sent His Son into the world not to condemn the world, but that it may have life in His name, we too are so sent. We are called and sent into the world to be merciful caretakers of the earth and all that is therein. We are sent into the world as good shepherds and Kingdom of God tenants to work in His fields to bear fruits of faith, hope, and love among all God's peoples in the world.

The Holy Spirit, himself, comes to us, searches for us, binds up our wounds, and strengthens us as the prophet Ezekiel proclaimed [Ezekiel 34:11]. This same Spirit ignites our lives with purifying fire that refines us to be acceptable and whole, and as one sacred people in the presences of God the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. [ref: Malachi 3:2]
Joel 2:28-32
The Lord said to his people:
I will pour out my spirit on all flesh;
….Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.' "
